The Maker movement is doing today what community media centers began 30 years ago, but with tools and expressive media that are outside of the historical practice of PEG organizations. As the concept of television has been radically changed in the last decade, and as Congress begins deliberation on what it means to fund public spaces in compensation for use of the public rights-of-way, it’s important to reflect the new landscape in our centers.
